The operation to administer the third vaccine against the corona virus continues to expand, with the Ministry of Health announcing that since its inception on Sunday, more than a quarter of a million Israelis have been vaccinated.

Among those vaccinated in the third dose are hundreds of residents of sheltered housing in Ramat Efal, including David Segal, 102, and Pinchas Chris, 101.

The 102-year-old staff, who were vaccinated in the third dose this morning (Thursday), called on all people aged 60 and over to be vaccinated: "It does not make sense not to get vaccinated, it is against development, we have to cut all this epidemic, enough."

He added that "it does not make sense to get vaccinated when the world of science and medicine has made a tremendous effort and developed protection for all of humanity from the virus."

Kochava Kanister, the head nurse at Mishan Efal, described the vaccination campaign as "a fruitful collaboration between the tenants and us." She also recounted how over time they adapted to a new routine in the background of the virus: "The corona is here and will not disappear, and we must live in its shadow. Beware, be careful and live.

Knister added that they did not give up on the cultural and social life of the place, while maintaining the social distance and wearing the masks along with close medical follow-up, "this without applying concern and anxiety." She emphasizes that the tenants' response to the protection and immunization requirements are what "created the infrastructure for the correct response to the epidemic."

Omri Cohen, CEO of Mashen, said: "I am proud of the comprehensive mobilization of all 2,500 Mishan residents for the third-dose vaccination campaign." He went on to praise Segal and Caspi, and said, "They are veteran and charming tenants who are an example to all the tenants in the good spirit and in the good eye that they transmit. "

Earlier, the Ministry of Health announced that 262,563 Israelis had been vaccinated in the third dose against the corona from Sunday to yesterday - 21% of the population eligible for the third vaccine, which includes those aged 60 and over who had passed five months since receiving the second and vaccine-suppressed vaccines.

Also, 381,000 appointments have already been booked at the HMOs for the vaccine.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett today called on citizens eligible for the third vaccine to go out and get vaccinated.

"In the next two to three weeks, those over the age of 60 who have not yet been vaccinated are at a six-fold higher risk than those who are vaccinated for the third time and five days have passed since their third vaccination," Bennett warned, adding that " .

"Do not go out to crowded places, do not be with people who may be verified, if you see the grandchildren then outside, in the open air, with masks. We have to get through these two weeks until you are vaccinated," he instructed.
