“I'm totally exhausted, on my feet for a day and a half, we celebrated well on the plane from Tokyo to Frankfurt.
When I now see how many of the family, the club and friends are there, that's amazing, ”are the first words of the only medal winner for the German gymnasts.

The first to hug him with tears in his eyes is his father Wolfgang, a sports teacher at the Unterhaching grammar school. Then his fiancée Veronika can finally. “He was gone for five weeks, that was a damn long time. That he would come back with a medal - I knew that he had the potential, but everything has to fit at the right time, ”she says happily after the first kiss. They have been a couple for eight years, they have been engaged for two months, "now we finally want to enjoy a few days together again." Veronika used to be a rhythmic gymnast. Base trained.
“You all won this medal,” says Dauser to his friends and fans, “together with me.
You have supported me so much in the past few years, through ups and downs. ”Then he has to say a very special thank you.
"Without my trainer Kurt Szilier, who always let me enjoy gymnastics even in the toughest phases of training, this medal would never have been possible," says Dauser, hugging him.

"Lukas was in a training group with Marcel Nguyen, both were always very hardworking, we trained nine times a week for years," reports the Bavarian national coach Szilier.
“I trained Lukas for eleven years before he went to Berlin and then to Halle.
Right from the start I recognized his talent at parallel bars. We practiced many of the elements that he did in the silver exercise together, ”says Szilier.
He hopes that the medal will give the young gymnasts a boost in Bavaria and of course in Unterhaching.
TSV-Turn department head Oskar Paulicks also relies on this: “I have followed Lukas' entire career from the little gymnast to the 2011 junior championship and the 2016 DM title.

Pure joy and pride also radiate from the faces of Lukas parents Wolfgang and Gabi, both in white “Team Dauser” T-shirts with the German flag and the hashtag “Booom” on their chests.
"This has been his cry for many years when he succeeds in something very well, at gymnastics, at school or at home," explains Mama Gabi.
Papa Wolfgang is a sports teacher, “but my sport has always been table tennis.
The love for gymnastics awakened his older sister Paula in Lukas, who started it, ”says the father.
In the circle of the family they watched Lukas' medal freestyle on TV, "after that the phone never stood still."
The community of Unterhaching also congratulated the second mayor Johanna Zapf and the third mayor Richard Raiser. "As a former competitive athlete, I can very well understand what this success means for him," said Zapf. In addition to a certificate, she presented a bag with "one square meter of Unterhachinger Boden - so Lukas always has his home with him."
