The Public Establishment for Drinking Water and Sanitation in Aleppo Governorate continues to implement projects to irrigate the countryside liberated from terrorism after the water situation in the city has stabilized.

The director of the foundation, Engineer Anas Abu Dan, told SANA reporter that work is currently underway to implement two projects in the governorate’s countryside, the first, Jeb Ghabsha Al-Sein, with a value of 8 billion pounds, and it aims to provide 50 residential communities with drinking water in two phases, the first by drawing water from the fourth traction channel coming from the Euphrates River and connecting it. From the treatment plant in Khafsa to Aleppo, pumping it to two high tanks, each with a capacity of 600 cubic meters, and delivering it to the population centers in Al-Safira, Al-Bab and Manbij through a network of 113 km. The second phase of the project will be implemented during the next year.

He indicated that the second project includes feeding 6 population centers in the town of Khanasir in the southeastern countryside, with a value of two billion and 225 million, and includes the implementation of a high water tank and a network to encourage citizens to return to their homes and villages. The second is the repair of the water network, with a length of 60 km, linking from the city of Aleppo to the Rasm Al-Nafl Center. The Foundation also continues to implement a set of projects covering the entire map of the governorate, including tanks and pumping centers.

He pointed out to the stability of the water situation in the governorate and the access of water to all the city's neighborhoods. In the countryside, there are 85 water pumping stations that are being operated, and in parallel, the rest of the centers destroyed by terrorism are being rehabilitated.

The Corporation's plan for the coming year includes the implementation of the Jabal El-Hoss water project in the southern countryside of the governorate, and there is a contract being studied by the Ministry of Water Resources in this regard.

SANA’s camera toured a number of projects being implemented in the areas of Al-Safira, Jibrin and Tel Arn, where huge tanks are being built to pump water to the residential communities. Engineer Nader Mahbek, Project Implementation Manager at the Aleppo Water Establishment, explained that the Corporation is currently implementing a 300-cubic-meter Dowerina village water tank project. To feed the village and the residential communities and the surrounding neighborhoods, pipes and pipes are now being extended to connect it with the network, and the project is in its final stages, at a cost of 400 million Syrian pounds.

In the town of Tel Aran, which is affiliated to the Al-Safira area, a similar reservoir is being implemented after the previous reservoir was destroyed as a result of terrorism. It has a capacity of 400 cubic meters of water and feeds about five thousand people, and its cost is about 400 million pounds.
