The accident vehicle was an overloaded van in which more than 20 people had sat, reported the local broadcaster Kris 6 News on Wednesday evening (local time).
Local media reported that the driver was traveling too fast on the highway in his van.

The vehicle crashed into a power pole and hit a stop sign, it said.
The driver and nine passengers died at the scene of the accident.
