The Constitutional Council validated the health pass on Thursday, after being seized by the Prime Minister himself and several parliamentarians.
This is the end of a legislative epic since Emmanuel Macron's speech on July 12, during which he had traced the outline of the device.
It will take effect from August 9, but other dates will mark the new policy.

The health pass, already extended since July 21, becomes mandatory to access everyday places such as restaurants, bars and cafes.
It is also becoming so for long-distance transport, such as planes, trains and buses.
The health pass will also be necessary, as approved by the Constitutional Council, to access major shopping centers.
For health establishments, the health pass will be compulsory for accompanying persons and visitors, but not for those undergoing treatment, so as not to be an “obstacle to access to care”.

The health pass becomes compulsory for employees working in places where the health pass is compulsory to access it. The waiter of a restaurant, the employee of an amusement park or the ticket clerk of a theater must therefore, from this date, be fully vaccinated or present each time a negative test for Covid-19 less. 48 hours. Without the sesame, the employment contract can be suspended, as confirmed by the Constitutional Council in its decision, but a CDD or an interim contract cannot be the subject of an early termination.

Beyond a valid health pass, nursing staff must be vaccinated from this date.
Non-medical employees working in health establishments, such as hospitals, clinics or retirement homes are also concerned.

Initially scheduled for August 30, the health pass obligation for 12-17 year olds will come into force from that date, in the same way as for adults.
That is, a child over 12 years old must have been vaccinated or tested negative within 48 hours to go to the cinema, restaurant or swimming pool.
Until then, no health pass is required.
