Nicolás Vázquez
(44) and
Gimena Accardi
(36) were staying at the Surfside condominium, in the city of Miami, which collapsed at dawn on June 24, but it was only now known how the actor's desperate request for help was in the middle of the tragedy from which they were miraculously saved.
The couple of actors, who were returning from dinner with Martín Bossi, were going up in the elevator when they felt the tremor.
On the run, they
managed to get out of the building before the collapse, which left 98 dead.
Beyond a few blows, Nicolás did not suffer serious injuries.
Different was the case of
Accardi, who needed medical assistance.

Now, 41 days after the tragedy,
Vázquez made a desperate request for help from a policeman
when he was on his way to a health center.
In the video, recorded from inside the police car,
Vázquez is heard very agitated asking the officer for assistance
, but the language makes dialogue difficult.
"I'm sorry, do you speak Spanish?"
("Sorry, do you speak Spanish?)
, The actor asks.
But the officer stops him, replies that he does not speak Spanish and orders him not to touch his car.
"Sorry"
("Sorry"), Vázquez apologizes, who then tells him:
"My wife is hurt!"
However, the officer insists:
"I don't speak Spanish"
(
"I don't speak
Spanish") and leaves the place, without attending the theater producer and his wife.
Nico Vázquez's story
On the same day of the tragedy, the actor tried to calm everyone who asked about him and his partner, and told in great detail how they could save themselves from the collapse.
"We lived a very strong moment. We came from dinner, I parked the car as usual in the garage,
we heard a very loud noise that we did not understand
, and within seconds we got on the elevator, it moved stopping in the lobby as usual ", he had detailed that time.
"It started a very strong dust cloud and a roar
," Nico said about when the elevator doors opened, and only then did they realize that part of the parking lot they had been in a few moments ago had collapsed.
"We did not understand what was happening, if it was a tornado, an attack ... It was the closest thing to a movie,"
said Vázquez.
Gimena Accardi ended up beaten in the middle of the runs because she couldn't see anything because of a large cloud of dust from the collapse.
"We ran desperately and Gime hit himself with a palm tree.
It scared me because it was not instantaneous or with blood, it was like a clot,"
explained the actor regarding the blow for which he asked that police officer who did not speak Spanish for help.
Nico and Gime returned to Argentina on June 29, and two weeks later they re-premiered the successful play
One Week Nothing More
, which they star in at the Nacional along with Benjamín Rojas.
