Dr. Chung Chin Hung, Chairman of the Council of St. John's Ambulance Service in Hong Kong, said that there has been less promotion and support for men’s health than other diseases in the society, and prostate cancer has become the third most common cancer among men, and the incidence rate has increased in the past 20 years. Highest.

Men are more likely to avoid doctors due to self-esteem problems

Ma Zehua, the chairman of Sik Sik Yuen, said that men's self-esteem begins to increase at a certain age. When facing prostate hyperplasia and other problems, they will be taboo and inconvenience to speak out. In the end, the prostate hyperplasia cannot be solved, but it increases the chance of developing prostate cancer.

In view of this, Ma Zehua pointed out that the Sise Garden Club and the "Hong Kong Prostate Fund" will provide 10 senior citizens' centers under Sise Garden to provide members with urology and prostate related health seminars, as well as free prostate cancer. The rapid test service hopes that the project can help patients "early detect and have both prevention and treatment", and it can also be extended to all men in Hong Kong, so that they can learn about prostate disease early and seek medical attention as soon as possible.

Li Yaohui (Yi Jue) stated that most of its members are men, and men are more avoidant to tell others that they have prostate disease and avoid doctors.

He also pointed out that the prostatic disease affects daily life in the least, and endangers health in the most serious. He hopes that the plan can help male elders understand and face up to their prostate conditions, and urged the elders to promote the plan to their friends.

Urology specialist: Prostate cancer is getting younger

Huang Guotian, the chairman of the "Hong Kong Prostate Fund" and a specialist in urology, pointed out that early prostate cancer may have no symptoms. Even with symptoms, it may be similar to benign prostatic hyperplasia. Therefore, it is necessary to wait until symptoms appear. Doctors are already in the middle or even later stages. Even if it cannot be prevented as early as possible, Huang Guotian hopes that citizens can be tested as soon as possible.

He found that prostate cancer has been getting younger in recent years. From the past, patients were mostly 70 or 80 years old, to 40 to 50 years old, and even more than 30 years old in recent years. Therefore, he encourages patients over 45 years old and family members who have suffered from it. Men with prostate cancer should be tested for prostate cancer every year.

Huang Guotian pointed out that prostate disease can block the urethra and hinder normal urination. After middle age, the patient's urine flow is weak during urination, even unable to urinate, and even frequent urination and nocturia occur.

Huang Guotian said that prostate disease not only affects patients' personal lives, but also affects their families.

For example, when a patient often has nocturia, his wife who is sleeping next to him will also be affected, and the family will be very worried, so he encourages the patient to "see shallow Chinese medicine."

Huang Guotian suggested that if you want to prevent prostate disease, you can eat foods containing vitamin C, lycopene, green tea, etc., and maintain good health, quit smoking, abstain from alcohol, and maintain a balanced diet.

People who come here call to pay attention to their urination

Uncle Cui, 80, is a patient with benign prostatic hyperplasia. He said that he was obstructed in urination for the first time 3 years ago, and he needed to wait in the emergency room for urination.

Uncle Cui pointed out that because he knew that prostate diseases were mostly symptoms of frequent urination, he didn't care that his prostate had an alarm. In addition, he said that he drank 8 glasses of water every day, so he did not increase his vigilance.

Afterwards, obstruction of urination occurred 4 times in 3 years. He bluntly said that it was very painful, and finally decided to perform prostatectomy in August this year.

Uncle Cui also worked as a volunteer for the patient support group of the "Hong Kong Prostate Fund". He said that he would share his experience with other patients and encourage people with prostate symptoms not to seek medical treatment because of inconvenience. It should be" and "not a venereal disease" means that if you can seek medical attention as soon as possible, you can avoid the need for surgery.

Uncle Cui still recommends that men should pay attention to their urination, whether they have urine leakage problems, and whether they have nocturia.
