The electric power transmission towers in the governorates of Salah al-Din, Kirkuk and Nineveh in northern Iraq were subjected to terrorist attacks that affected 13 towers during the past 48 hours.
And the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity announced in a statement today that "the war on the towers and power transmission lines is expanding to include all northern governorates through a series of systematic bombings targeting the capabilities and capabilities of the General Electricity Transmission Company and depleting its infrastructure."
The ministry said, "Yesterday, terrorists attacked the transmission line between Kirkuk and Qayyarah in Nineveh Governorate, with explosive devices, which caused the fall of five towers. They also attacked the transmission line between Al-Dur and Ajil oil field in Salah al-Din Governorate, which led to it being out of service."
The ministry pointed out that the perpetrators of the attacks deliberately harm citizens in light of the high temperatures.
In a related context, the Federal Intelligence Agency of the Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of an ISIS terrorist who carried out attacks against civilians and planted several explosive devices in Babil Province.
In turn, the Iraqi police announced the arrest of an ISIS terrorist in Samarra.
