The number of corona cases worldwide crossed the 200 million mark today (Thursday).
In recent months, the Delta strain has led to a renewed exacerbation of the epidemic not only in Israel, but in many countries around the world.
The number of active patients in the world stands at about 15.7 million people, of whom about 95,000 are in critical or humane condition.
The death toll worldwide has already reached 4.27 million.
Since the discovery of the Delta strain in mid-June, the number of daily cases worldwide has risen by 68%.

In Australia, in the face of the slow vaccination campaign, almost two-thirds of the population, comprising 25 million people, are already under closure.

In Tokyo, the capital of Japan hosting the Olympics, a record number of daily incidents were recorded, with 5,042 verified people.
China, where the virus was first discovered in December 2019, has tightened its borders after the highest number of cases in the past six months.
The Immigration Authority in China has announced that it will be able to issue documents needed for the flight including passports in non-essential cases.

Africa has also reached a new negative high, with 6,400 deaths a week.
"In a normal week we hold six or seven funerals," a cemetery in the Senegalese capital told AFP, "but now we hold six or seven a day."
The United States remains the country with the highest number of infections and deaths due to corona.
Today Biden announced that it is considering approving the entry of only vaccinated tourists.
In Europe, Greek authorities have announced new restrictions, including a closure on the island of Zanta and the city of Chania on the island of Crete.
In Spain, the closure in Barcelona and most of Catalonia was extended by two weeks while hospitals were collapsing.
Today, France joined Israel and Germany and announced that it would begin a third dose of the vaccine to Corona starting in September.
