The end of three long years of apprenticeship was celebrated by 25 apprentices from the carpenters, joiners, bakers and butchers guild on Tuesday evening.

Most of the journeymen remain in the district, much to the delight of District Administrator Stefan Frey.

District

- It was the big day of the new journeymen in the district. In the hall of the monastery inn in Andechs, the 25 trainees were acquitted on Tuesday evening by master craftsman Ludwig Gansneder. "Today is a public holiday in the year of the district craftsmen," said Gansneder to the graduates. "You have now climbed the first rung of the career ladder."

Despite the pandemic, all trainees passed the final exams and received their journeyman's certificate. “I know the last year and a half have not been easy. The vocational school could not take place as usual, in some companies the atmosphere was tense due to the economic situation, ”said Gansneder. “So I'm all the more satisfied with the results.” He is particularly proud of the four best guilds, who all got a one before the decimal point. Tobias Bernhart (baker), Pablo Nibble (butcher), Benedikt Simon Hauser (carpenter) and Kilian Anton Rinderle (carpenter) were honored for their achievements.

"I would like to thank the parents, trainers and numerous mayors who have come," said the district master craftsman. This is also a sign of the appreciation of the economic achievements of the district craftsmen. "It bothers me a little that the city of Starnberg is not represented," said Gansneder. The district craftsmen would be happy to attend the upcoming acquittal ceremony - the mayors present should tell their colleagues in the district capital that.

With the journeyman's certificate, all doors are now open to young people, Gansneder continued.

Further education and training or the master's degree - the career opportunities are diverse.

"Unfortunately, word of that hasn't got around yet," he stated.

The craft must become more popular again, because it is “the economic power next door”.

District Administrator Stefan Frey also emphasized in his speech: “The craft has a future.” The big advantage for the new journeymen is that they can always find a job anywhere.

"I know that you are not getting the best credit," said Frey.

“Soon, however, I think you will earn more than many a worn-out academic.” As a district administrator, it is important for him to keep as many bakers, joiners, carpenters and butchers in the district as possible.

"We have the best companies here."

Most of the journeymen fulfill the district administrator's request. “The majority was taken over by the companies and will stay here for the time being,” said Gansneder. If the journeymen are drawn to the roll at some point, as was the case many years ago, the deputy general manager of the Munich Chamber of Crafts, Dieter Vierlbeck, has a tip ready. "There are great programs like Erasmus Plus that can be used to find a job abroad," he said.

After the journeyman's examination, it is important to remain faithful to the craft, said Andechs' Mayor Georg Scheitz.

“The job fulfills you every day, you grow together with it.

I can speak from experience, I am an agricultural master myself and I even think the only mayor with a master craftsman's certificate in the district. ”Therefore, he is all the more proud that the acquittal ceremony took place in his community.

After the certificates were awarded, the VR Bank donated the journeymen a meal in a beautiful tradition.
