The bill aimed at countering the outbreak of the Covid-19 epidemic, with the controversial extension of the health pass, was approved Thursday, August 5 by the Constitutional Council, with the exception of the compulsory isolation measure.
The much-awaited opinion of the Elders was delivered at the end of the afternoon and conditions the implementation of the government's strategy.

The text had already been adopted by the National Assembly and the Senate on July 25, after six days of heated debates and several inflections. The Constitutional Council was then seized by the government and three groups of more than 60 parliamentarians.
The Constitutional Council also validated the extension of the health pass to certain shopping centers
"beyond a certain threshold defined by decree"
and if
"the seriousness of the risk of contamination"
at the level of a department justifies it. The prefectural authority will thus be able to set up the health pass in department stores and shopping centers while guaranteeing
"people's access to
essential
goods and services as well as to the means of transport accessible within the confines of these stores. and centers ”
