The vaccination bus is coming: From next week (August 9th), the vaccination center of the Miesbach district is expanding its range to include a mobile team that drives to localities in a special bus and injects corona vaccines from all manufacturers there.

Now the municipalities are called upon to suggest possible stops or events.

District

- District Administrator Olaf von Löwis (CSU) decided on Tuesday afternoon (August 3) to professionalize the mobile offshoot of the vaccination campaign in the district and to charter a vaccination bus. "We are currently in the final coordination with a service provider," explains Sophie Stadler, press spokeswoman for the district office, on request. The bus should be ready to go by the beginning of next week.

It is now necessary to determine in which town and village the vaccines will be available and when.

According to Stadler, the 17 mayors were written to on Tuesday (August 3) with a request for feedback on which locations, squares or events would be suitable.

"The vaccination team is hoping for a lively feedback," says Stadler and emphasizes: "The mobile team will only come if the owner or the organizer has given their consent." The team itself has already worked out a possible timetable and developed around 50 suggestions.

Mobile team could also visit schools in September

The district will initially bear the costs of the additional offer. "Reimbursement through the government is in prospect," says Stadler. The government of Upper Bavaria expressly wants mobile vaccination offers. The surrounding districts were asked, but, according to Stadler, showed no interest in participating in the vaccination bus. The district of Miesbach is now handling the mobile vaccination offer on its own. The spokeswoman did not want to reveal exactly what the bus costs because of the private law contract with the provider. Just this much: a mid five-digit sum is due for four weeks.

The vaccination bus will initially roll through the district for a month.

Then it is checked whether the offer is still needed.

Theoretically, the vaccination bus could rattle off the schools in the district at the start of classes from September 14th, "if politicians ask us to do so," as Stadler emphasizes.

The bus team is recruited from the vaccination center.

A unit consists of a doctor, an administrator and a medical assistant.

Depending on the location, there can be several such teams, should the expected rush at a stop be greater.

Mobile vaccination teams were and are already on the move this week - in Thann and Irschenberg as well as this Thursday in Bad Wiessee in front of the town hall.

With a car and a pavilion from the BRK inventory, that worked quite well, said Stadler.

The professionally equipped vaccination bus makes the mobile team less dependent on the weather.

And the sensitive area of the vaccination can be separated better so that the vaccinated can withdraw with a doctor.
