The patient worked at 40-44 Bonham East Street, Sheung Wan, and was also included in the mandatory testing announcement.

The Centre for Health Protection pointed out that the case involved a 32-year-old male patient living in Seaview Building, 82-87 Connaught Road West, Sheung Wan. He left for the United States on July 25 and returned to Hong Kong via Doha on August 5 by flight QR818.

His pre-departure tests in Hong Kong on July 24 and in the United States on August 2 were negative.

When he arrived in Hong Kong, he took samples at the airport temporary sample collection center for virus testing, and the result was initially positive. The test by the Public Health Laboratory Service of the Department of Health showed that the patient had the L452R variant virus strain, but did not carry the N501Y and E484K variant genes.

The patient is asymptomatic. He had been vaccinated with two doses of Fubital vaccine in Hong Kong on April 7 and April 28.

The blood sample he took on July 19 was positive for antibodies to the new coronavirus spike protein.

In the past 21 days, the patient had lived in Hong Kong between July 15 and 25.

For the sake of prudence, the government will make a restriction and test announcement tonight in the building where the patient lives in Hong Kong, namely the Seaview Building, 82-87 Connaught Road West, Sheung Wan.

All residents in the same building must undergo compulsory testing on the 3rd, 7th, 12th and 19th day from the day when the case is announced.

The patient worked at 40-44 Bonham Street East, Sheung Wan, and had been to work between July 15 and 25 in the past 21 days.

The patient's workplace and the places he visited during the incubation period must also be included in the mandatory testing announcement.

Designated persons who have stayed in the relevant place at the designated time are required to undergo mandatory testing on or before the designated date.
