One week after the opening of the third vaccination campaign for people aged 60 and over, the Ministry of Health instructed psychiatric hospitals today (Friday) that employees and patients aged 40 and over are also entitled to be vaccinated with another dose. In the Corona Cabinet, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett wanted to examine a third dose for the entire population aged 40 and over, but the head of the Public Health Services, Dr. Sharon Elrai Price, rejected this, claiming that it was not a policy decision made by the Cabinet of Ministers. .

Prof. Yuval Melamed, chairman of the Psychiatric Association of the Medical Association, welcomed the decision: "Corona disease exists in the general public and creates a complex therapeutic challenge for patients hospitalized in mental health centers and staff engaged in this important work.

Due to the lack of ability to maintain distance and wearing masks we welcome the important step that helps us maintain the health of patients and staff.

We hope to continue promoting the psychiatric service required in infrastructure, accessible outpatient service and community rehabilitation solutions. "

At the same time, the Assuta Ashdod Public Hospital asked not to admit Corona patients in the coming hours, after reaching the threshold of the severity of patients in critical condition. This morning, the Ministry of Health updated that the number of patients in critical condition continues to climb, and stands at 253. Yesterday, 3,843 Israelis were diagnosed positive for Corona, with 3.79% of the tests being positive.
