The workforce is forced to present a complete vaccination schedule before September 15, 2021 so as not to be declared unfit for their mission.

From now on, the soldiers who are part of Operation Sentinel as well as Operation Resilience must be vaccinated before September 15, under penalty of incapacity.

In an instruction dated July 29, 2021, signed by the Director General of the Army Health Service and to which the newspaper

Le Monde

was able to have access, it is stipulated that vaccination against Covid-19 becomes compulsory "

for all soldiers

( …)

Serving, as of September 15, 2021, on metropolitan territory as part of an operational commitment decided by the military staff or the direction of the national gendarmerie ”.

To read also: "Working time of the soldiers: let us refuse this diktat contrary to the interests of the nation!"

New measure or change of course? None, reports the Ministry of the Armed Forces: "

We continue to do what we have been doing from the start, deployments and operational projections

," he adds. Indeed, since Friday, May 7, all French soldiers deployed in an external theater of operations must be vaccinated against Covid-19, under penalty for the recalcitrant of being declared unfit for the mission, the state said- major.

So after the

Charles de Gaulle

aircraft carrier

, large external operations such as Barkhane or Chammal, via the permanent bases deployed, such as Abu Dhabi, Abidjan, or Libreville, it is the turn of the national territory.

"

All this is done in an order of good logic

", specifies the Ministry of the Armed Forces.

From now on, the following are affected by compulsory vaccination before September 15:

  • The personnel of

    Operation Sentinel

, which consists of the protection and defense of sensitive points, but also of civilians throughout France.

  • The staff of

    Operation Resilience

, launched against the spread of Covid-19 and focused on helping and supporting populations as well as supporting public services to deal with this epidemic.

  • Air security

    , or "

    sky police

", that is to say air defense over national territory by the Air Force.

  • Maritime safeguarding

, by the French Navy, which devotes a significant part of the operational activity of its ships and aircraft to maritime safeguard missions.

  • Staff

    in training

    or

    internship

According to

Le Monde

, "

a tolerance will be applied for the military" in the recognized period of acquired immunity ", that is to say whose virological test was positive in the weeks preceding this deadline

".

In terms of figures, for the French in general, the Army vaccination centers have vaccinated more than 900,000 people.

With regard to the personnel of the ministry, plus the other soldiers (civil security, gendarme, Brigade of firefighters of Paris, Battalion of marine firefighters of Marseille), "

we have 270,000 injections

", concludes the Ministry of the Armed Forces.
