Ducklings are easy to swallow and can cause suffocation

Customs officers earlier tried to purchase a variety of children's toys from retailers in different regions for safety testing.

The test results found that the small components of a large duck toy in a plastic duck toy set had fallen off, while the three little ducks were easily swallowed by children, posing a potential risk of suffocation.

The results of the government laboratory also showed that the toy contained Class I and Class II plasticizers, phthalates, which were 24% and 4.1% of the total weight of plasticized materials, respectively, which exceeded the Toys and Children’s Products Safety Ordinance. Customs issued a prohibition letter to chain department stores

The customs subsequently took action to seize a total of 680 plastic duck set toys of the same model in the warehouse and four branches of a chain department store and issued a prohibition notice to prohibit them from continuing to sell the toys.

For the first conviction, offenders can be fined up to 100,000 yuan and imprisoned for 1 year, and for each subsequent conviction, they can be fined up to 500,000 yuan and imprisoned for 2 years.
