The Special Duty Squad of the Kowloon City Police District launched an anti-drug operation at about 5 noon yesterday (5th) after conducting an in-depth investigation and conducting a raid on a unit in Sheung Lok House, Sheung Lok Estate, Sheung Shing Street.
During the operation, officers seized about 145 grams of suspected crack cocaine in the unit. The officers arrested a 17-year-old local man in the unit for "drug trafficking". He is currently being detained for investigation.
The total market value of drugs seized during the operation was about 250,000 yuan.
The police emphasized that there is zero tolerance for all drug activities and will continue to crack down on them.
Drug trafficking is a serious crime. According to the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, Chapter 134 of the Laws of Hong Kong, once convicted, the maximum penalty is a fine of HK$5 million and life imprisonment. The public should not try the law on their own.
