Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, expressed his country's concern over the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan and the risk of militants infiltrating the Central Asian countries.
Sputnik agency reported that Nebenzia warned during a meeting of the UN Security Council today of the danger of militants infiltrating the Central Asian region, including infiltrations "under the cover of refugees", describing the situation in Afghanistan as "disappointing and worrying."
The Taliban militants intensified their clashes with the Afghan forces and launched several attacks to extend their control over the border towns and seized dozens of neighborhoods and border crossings in the past few months.
