The Russian Federation Council confirmed that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe participates in the American project to contain Russia when it refuses to send observers to the Russian elections.
The head of the Committee for the Protection of State Sovereignty in the Federal Council Andrei Klimov was quoted by the agency “Sputnik” as saying today: “The refusal to send observers to the Russian elections aims to stir up an artificial scandal around the elections in order to question their legitimacy later,” stressing that “the only source of sovereignty is in Russia.” It is its people, not any foreign structure, and according to its law, the results of the vote will be determined by the Russian Central Election Commission.”
The Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe recently announced that it will not send observers to accompany the Russian Duma elections scheduled for next September, while the Russian Foreign Ministry expressed yesterday Moscow's regret over the organization's decision.
The next elections will be held in Russia at different levels, including the parliamentary, from the 17th to the 19th of next September.
