What do the Waakirchen children and young people want for their place?
The youth commissioner wants to determine this at the moment.
A first result is already available.
Waakirchen
- The youth representative and councilor Evi Obermüller (Greens) is now familiar with a very big wish of the Waakirchen youngsters: an ice cream parlor in town. In the painting competition at the primary school under the title “My wish for Waakirchen”, the longing for the fresh ice ball was staged 43 times. Obermüller now wants to talk to local restaurateurs to encourage them to offer an ice cream stand: "Maybe we can do that quickly."
What the Waakirchner youth want, that Obermüller wants to find out not only through the painting competition, but also on a broad basis.
Helping young people to have a greater say is an important goal for the councilor.
She is following it up as a team: recently, student teacher Laura Ungar (22) was won over as the second youth representative.
SPD councilor Andreas Kilian, who has also been the youth commissioner so far, is leaving the community and leaving office.
A survey is currently underway among the young people
A polling campaign with postcards is currently running, such as the painting competition entitled “My wish for Waakirchen”.
The postcards were enclosed with the congregation messenger that month.
"The response is good," stated Obermüller with satisfaction.
However, it will only count after the end of August.
The painting competition, which was carried out on the initiative of Obermüller in the elementary school, has ended.
All eight classes participated.
"There are a lot of beautiful pictures," says Obermüller happily.
At the beginning of the new school year in autumn, three winners will be awarded.
There's a scavenger hunt during the holidays
Obermüller has also come up with something for the children during the holidays: a treasure hunt with seven stops across the municipality of Waakirchen.
There are questions to be answered in which one can learn a lot about the history and the special features of the community, for example about the coal mining in Marienstein, the lion monument or the Schaftlacher cross.
The scavenger hunt is available on the Waakirchen municipality website www.waakirchen.de or can be requested from Obermüller by e-mail to eobermueller@gmx.de.
The results of the surveys are to be presented in autumn
Obermüller wants to present the results of the survey and the painting competition to the local council in autumn.
A young citizens' meeting is also planned.
Some of what young people want can possibly be realized with little effort, says Obermüller.
Perhaps the youngsters will then even dare to submit their own applications to the local council.
