The president of Barcelona,

, that of Real Madrid,

Florentino Pérez

, and that of Juventus

Andrea Agnelli

, the three driving clubs of the Super League, met this Saturday in the Catalan capital.

According to reports in the Spanish press, the three leaders had agreed to this meeting in Barcelona some time ago to analyze the latest judicial resolution ordering

UEFA to definitively archive the disciplinary file

opened against these clubs.

And also to agree on the steps to follow in this new season, in which he intends to continue working to create a competition that, as they have repeatedly maintained, would serve to save the economy of the main European clubs.

"I am not going to mortgage the club or the best player in the world,"

said the manager.

Both Barcelona and Real Madrid expressed their dissatisfaction with the LaLiga de España agreement with the investment group CVC.

What happened to the Super League

In April, the main clubs in Europe led by Real Madrid promoted a tournament parallel to the Champions League and outside the UEFA networks.

According to the main leaders, such as Florentino Pérez, the Super League would economically save the clubs after the crisis generated by the coronavirus pandemic.

However, under pressure from UEFA and FIFA, and from Boris Johnson, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom,

the six Premier League clubs

that were registered decided to withdraw from the project due to the serious risk of being sanctioned sportingly and financially.

As a domino effect, almost all the clubs withdrew their support for the project except for three: Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus, who finally received a warning from UEFA and this Saturday after the shock generated by Messi from Barsa and of LaLiga of Spain, they got together again.
