The Argentine government announced that it will ease restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of the Corona virus, at a time when the total number of people infected with the virus approached 5 million and the deaths of more than 107 thousand people.
Reuters quoted government sources as saying yesterday that its plan includes easing restrictions on mixing, reopening schools, and increasing the number of people who will be allowed to enter the country from 1,000 people per day.
The Argentine authorities decided to adopt this plan after 10 weeks of recording low rates of injuries and 8 weeks of a decrease in the number of deaths, but experts warn that the epidemic has not ended despite the positive changes.
And Argentine President Alberto Fernandez indicated that moving forward with reopening the country and lifting restrictions will depend on the frequency of vaccination.
The second phase of the plan, which will depend on new infection rates, calls for increasing the number of people allowed to participate in gatherings, lifting restrictions on outdoor events, allowing group trips to restaurants, reopening borders to foreigners, and eventually resuming sporting events such as football matches.
