The 22-year-old Ashram, who is taking part in her first Olympics, has won numerous titles in the last four years, including gold medals at European Championships, silver and bronze medals at world championships and five gold medals at the last Grand Prix in Tel Aviv, but nothing comes close to her great achievement in Japan.

This is Israel's fourth (!) Medal at the Tokyo Olympics and second in gold, after Dolgofiat won, and bronze medals by Avishag Samberg in taekwondo and the judo team.

This is Israel's 13th medal at the Olympics;

Ashram was preceded by Yael Arad, who opened the door with a silver medal in Barcelona in 1992, along with a bronze medal by Oren Samadja, a bronze medal by Gal Friedman in Atlanta in 1996, another bronze by Michael Kolganov in Sydney 2000, historic gold by Friedman in Athens 2004 alongside a bronze by Arik Zeevi , A bronze medal by Shahar Zubari in Beijing 2008, two bronze medals by Jordan Jerby and Uri Sasson in Rio 2016 and the three fresh medals by Samberg, the judo team and Dolgofiat in Tokyo.

Although the finish was especially sweet for Ashram, who broke the Israeli record in the Olympics after Neta Rivkin finished eighth in London 2012, her start in the competition was not easy: the gymnast erred in her first exercise (hoop) in the qualifiers, but managed to recover later with an excellent ball exercise. Work also in the baton and film exercises, and qualified for the final with a third place and a cumulative score of 103.100, and from there continued to the medal.
