Today, French police used tear gas to disperse demonstrators rejecting the new health measures imposed by the authorities to confront the spread of the Corona virus in Dijon.
French media reported that clashes took place between those protesting the “health certificate” and compulsory vaccinations, and police officers in the streets of Dijon, who used tear gas to disperse the demonstration.
Several French cities witnessed similar demonstrations. In the capital, Paris, a crowd that included a number of “yellow vest” protesters chanted slogans against French President Emmanuel Macron, including “Macron, we do not want your health certificate” and “Macron we no longer want to hear your voice.”
A large part of the demonstrators oppose the imposition of the health certificate, which in their opinion constitutes a "disguised compulsion to vaccination" and see it as unequal restrictions, while others refuse to be "test mice" for new vaccines, according to their opinion.
A French bill extending the use of health certificates in cafes and some shopping centers, in addition to the mandatory vaccination of caregivers, was ratified by the Constitutional Council the day before yesterday, which sparked resentment in French society and prompted many associations to call for protest demonstrations in rejection of these measures.
