The Gironde firefighters have decided to maintain their strike notice until Tuesday, at the call of the CFDT, FO, SUD and UNSA unions, to protest against the organization of relief in the department, which according to them does not allow them to properly fulfill their missions, announced the intersyndicale.

The unions intend in particular to protest against the conditions of admission to hospital emergency services in front of which their emergency vehicles must, according to them, sometimes wait for several hours.
They are also calling for more private ambulances to take care of non-emergency relief.
During a meeting with the inter-union on Friday, the prefecture announced a very “
short-term
”
reinforcement
of ten additional private ambulances in the Bordeaux conurbation, according to its press service.

She also promised that "
in the medium term
" improvements would be made to the care in public and private hospital emergencies and that a point would be organized each month with the Regional Health Agency (ARS) and the SDIS ( Fire and rescue service) to ensure that the measures are implemented.
According to the SUD union, "
100% of the staff of the two largest barracks in Bordeaux declared themselves strikers
" on Saturday.
They are nevertheless likely to be requisitioned.
