Heavy storms hit Bavaria: DWD warns - one region is particularly affected

As early as Saturday afternoon, there should be a big crash again: The DWD announces severe thunderstorms for Bavaria until late at night.

Munich - sunshine and clear blue sky: In many places in the Free State, Saturday starts the weekend with fantastic weather.

But as the saying goes: And the marmot greets you every day.

Because a look at the forecast of the meteorologists shows: In the afternoon, dark thunderclouds are again moving over the first regions.

From the Alps to the Danube, the first thunderstorms appear in areas during the day.

Also in the luggage: stormy gusts and heavy rain.

The storms from Chiemgau to the Bavarian Forest are said to be particularly violent, with 30 to 60 liters of rain per square meter in a short time.

There are also hailstones up to three centimeters in size and hurricane-like gusts of wind at speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour.

It gets really wet in the Allgäu Alps until Sunday night.

According to the DWD, there is a risk of rain of up to 40 liters per square meter in twelve hours.

Continuous rain has also been announced for the central and eastern Alps and from the Alpine foothills to the Danube.

After all: with temperatures between 20 and 27 degrees it remains pleasantly summery, at least in terms of temperature.

A mix of sun and clouds has been announced for Sunday: In the south and east of Bavaria it will rain in areas.

But in addition to the occasional showers, there are also longer, sunny sections from time to time.

In addition, it remains moderately warm, with temperatures between 17 and 23 degrees.
