Almost 70 emergency services from three districts simulated a large-scale operation in Gebensbach.

Rescuers from Moosen, Gebensbach, Velden, Babing and Ranoldsberg were involved.

Gebensbach

- "Fire caused by deflagration in a carpenter's workshop with an uncertain number of injuries": That was the scenario that the Gebensbach fire brigade created.

The fire brigades Moosen, Velden and Babing, the first responders from Ranoldsberg and "local helpers" as well as the Maltese from Velden were called in.

Gradually it became clear during the exercise that a total of eight people, some with injuries that were deceptively real made-up, could be rescued in the carpenter's shop. The location of the scenario was a carpenter's workshop that was ready to be demolished and therefore made available for the large-scale exercise. Meanwhile, the fire fighting attack was being tried out on the rear side of the building.

The commanders, group leaders and district fire chief Florian Pleiner and district fire inspector Richard Obermaier agreed on the result after two hours: “All in all, it went very well. Little things that can be done better are always noticed. But everyone took something home with them, ”said Michael Zuhr, Vice-Commander of the Gebensbacher Wehr, summarizing the debriefing. The aim of the joint exercise, led by Ludwig Mayer, was to rehearse the cooperation between fire and rescue services beyond the district boundaries.
