Avishag Samberg made the opening. On the first day of the Olympics, the taekwondo fighter achieved the bronze and became the youngest medalist in Israeli history, already at the age of 19. She arranged a medal in a new industry (until Tokyo there were medals only in judo, boating and kayaking) and marked Israel's successful day.

A week later, last Saturday, we received Israel's first team medal at the Olympics. After a streak of disappointments at Nippon Bodokan Hall, the judo team achieved its second bronze in Tokyo (and the fifth in a row of the industry, since Yael Arad's historic silver medal) in the first group judo competition.

And now, on the third Saturday in Tokyo, the icing on the cake with Linoy Ashram's gold has arrived. The artistic gymnast came as one of the Israeli favorites for a medal and as one of the top three in her competition, and exceeded expectations with an outstanding final that ended in first place. Third gold in the history of Israel, fourth medal in Tokyo and 13th overall.

The first Olympic champion since Gal Friedman we received even before Ashram, and in one of the most prestigious disciplines in the Olympics.

Artium Dolgofyat won the gold medal in the final of the ground exercise on Sunday and put Israel on the big map in the apparatus gymnastics industry as well.
