The Israeli occupation continues to implement its plans to empty the occupied city of Jerusalem from the Palestinian presence through the expansion of settlement operations. At a time when the Palestinians are forcibly displaced from their homes, the international community is satisfied with reminding the international resolutions that confirm the illegality of settlement without any step to compel the occupation to implement it.

The National Office for Defending Land and Resisting Settlements of the Palestine Liberation Organization stated in its weekly report issued today on its website that the occupation is bulldozing large areas of Palestinian lands in the town of Qalandia, north of Jerusalem, to establish an outpost of 9,000 settlement units that extends over an area of 1,240 dunums of the lands of Al-Quds Airport in The town, which was seized by the occupation in 1967 and built on its land a military barrier separating the city from Ramallah.

The report pointed out that the dredging work in Qalandia also includes the construction of five settlement roads, four of which link the airport area to the settlements built on Palestinian lands east of Jerusalem, and from there to the settlements established in the Jordan Valley and the Palestinian coast, while the fifth road links south of Qalandia in Jerusalem to the cities of Bethlehem and Hebron.

The report indicated that the occupation began implementing a plan to build a settlement road from the town of Hizma, north of the occupied city of Jerusalem, to a settlement built on the lands of Jaba' village, northeast of the city, which threatens to seize large areas of Palestinian lands.

The report stated that the occupation authorities continue their attempts to forcibly displace dozens of Palestinian families from their homes in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of Jerusalem to be handed over to settlers, indicating that the United Nations renewed its rejection of the occupation’s displacement of the Palestinians, in a statement to the spokesperson for the Secretary-General of the Organization, Stephane Dujarric, in which he said: “Our position is clear .. settlement and displacement Palestinians from their homes are a clear violation of international law.”

The report indicated that the occupation forces continue to demolish Palestinian property in the West Bank, as they demolished Palestinian homes and facilities in Khirbet Ibziq in the northern Jordan Valley, 16 commercial establishments in Hizma town in Jerusalem, three homes in Sa’ir town in Hebron, five agricultural facilities in Wadi Rahal in Bethlehem, and an agricultural facility in the town of Sebastia, north of Nablus, and several homes and facilities on the Al-Maarjat road, north of Ramallah, while demolition notices were delivered to two homes in the village of Al-Walaja in Bethlehem and several homes in the villages of Al-Nabi Elias and Jit in Qalqilya.

The report indicated that the settlers continue their attacks on the cities and towns of the West Bank under the protection of the occupation forces. They stormed the villages of Burin and Jalud, south of Nablus, and attacked Palestinian homes and properties. They also destroyed 140 olive plantations in the lands of Al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem, and built a settlement road on the lands of Kisan village, east of the city, and prevented farmers Palestinians were prevented from accessing their lands in the towns of Haris and Kifl Haris in Salfit, and they bulldozed areas of Palestinian lands in the Mufeya plain area, north of Khirbet Al Hadidiya in the northern Jordan Valley, in preparation for the establishment of a settlement outpost.
