In the USA, US President Joe Biden's billion dollar infrastructure program has cleared an important hurdle.
The Senate voted on Saturday with 67 against 27 votes in favor of limiting the time for the debate on the project.
For this move, the Democrats needed the approval of ten Republican senators in order to get the necessary 60 votes.
When the consent itself is given, however, is still open.
An agreement is still being worked on behind closed doors, changes to the project are still possible.
The project is one of Biden's most important election promises.
This includes spending on roads and bridges, but also broadband, e-car charging points and the power grid.
The $ 1.2 trillion package is not yet fully approved, but the vote is a breakthrough.
For months there had been a dispute about how much money should be included in the package - and where this money was taken from.
If the bill is approved, it goes to the House of Representatives.
