In a murder case in Tuen Mun on Thursday (5th) night, a seventy-year-old man who took a bus home, got off early due to a traffic jam, was assaulted and killed while passing the pavilion of the Haizhu Road Playground.
During the police investigation, a 30-year-old suspicious man was found running in the rain at Hang Kwai Street Playground, and he stepped forward and intercepted him for investigation.
The man drew his feet and fled, and eventually the police drew his gun and subdued him.
The man was injured in his neck and wrist and found an axe, saber and jagged knives. He was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Police today (7th) temporarily charged the 30-year-old man with one count of murder. The case will appear in Tuen Mun Magistracy next Monday (9th) morning.
The police explained the case earlier that the 70-year-old man surnamed Zhang Nan worked in a meat stall, while the suspect surnamed Wan Nan reported that he was unemployed. The two were residents of Tuen Mun but did not know each other.
At 8:55 on the night of the incident, a male passerby found Zhang lying in a pool of blood, and ambulancemen arrived at the scene to confirm that the deceased was dead.
At 10:10 pm, the police found a man running in the rain at the Hang Kwai Street Recreation Ground about 100 meters away from the scene. When he stepped forward to intercept and search, the other party was uncooperative and ran away. He threw his rucksack on the way and the police chased him down. About 200 meters to Hairong Road, he was stopped, and the police once drew their guns during the entanglement.
The police found the man’s rucksack exposed the handle of the knife, and later found a 30 cm long axe, a 30 cm long saber with a knife cover, and a 50 cm long serrated knife. All three sharp tools were stained with blood. , In addition, the suspected culprit also had scars on his neck and wrists.
The police also found blood shoe prints in the toilets at Hang Kwai Street Playground. One of the toilets contained a large pool of blood stains on the ground and blood stains on the walls.
