Kaufbeuren

- A few weeks ago, many people tried in vain for a corona vaccination appointment * - meanwhile, vaccination fatigue has crept into Bavaria as well.

In order to at least motivate his employees for a vaccination *, an entrepreneur from Kaufbeuren is now taking an - at least in the Free State still - extraordinary step: a vaccination bonus worth 250 euros.

Corona vaccination: Entrepreneur from Bavaria pays employee bonus

With this campaign Hubertus von Zastrow, managing director of Pro-micron, would like to give his employees "a little incentive".

Those who have already been vaccinated or recovered in the company can also look forward to the bonus.

Interesting: According to Zastrow, the vaccination premium does not incur any additional costs.

The managing director explains that with the 250 euros he is only apportioning the costs that the company would alternatively have to spend in half a year for twice weekly corona tests *.

Corona vaccination bonus for employees: "Would like to give an impetus"

He explained: "I just want to give an impetus and maybe motivate those who are still undecided to get vaccinated".

However, the entrepreneur does not know how high the vaccination quota is currently in his company - which manufactures software and sensors for robotic machines.

"We do not ask because it is a private matter".

The idea of a vaccination premium is nothing new in and of itself. In the United States, some companies are already paying their employees a post-vaccination bonus, including supermarkets and hospitals. In Greece, those who are ready to be vaccinated receive mobile phone vouchers. In Germany, incentives are already being discussed, because at the same time as the willingness to vaccinate is falling, the number of infections is increasing almost everywhere. Behavioral economist Prof. Nora Szech even sees financial incentives as the only solution in the fight against herd immunity.

According to the RKI, the seven-day incidence across Bavaria on Saturday, August 7, was 14.2 - well below the national average of 21.2.

The cities of Coburg and Schweinfurt can even score with a seven-day incidence of zero.

The incidence front runner in the Free State is currently the district of Berchtesgadener Land with 47.2, followed by the city of Aschaffenburg with 45.1.
