An exhibition of a group of Syrian antiquities is being held in the Nanshan Museum in Shenzhen, China.

The exhibition, which opened on the fourth of this month, includes a large number of artifacts that were loaned to the Chinese side specifically for this purpose, based on an agreement concluded between the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums and the Foundation for Art Exhibitions in China, with the support of the Syrian Embassy in Beijing and the Chinese National Cultural Heritage Administration.

The exhibits were collected from nine Syrian museums and represent a rich and diverse group of several geographical regions that express the richness of Syrian civilization and heritage.

The time of the exhibits goes back to successive historical stages and eras, while a section was devoted to displaying the historical exchanges between Syria and China on the Silk Road.

In an exclusive statement to SANA correspondent in Beijing, the cultural and media official at the Syrian embassy in Beijing, Dr. Fadi Wassouf, confirmed that the exhibition aims to enhance cooperation and cultural exchange between Syria and China and deepen the knowledge and interest of Chinese friends in the richness and ancient history of Syria.

The exhibition in Shenzhen is the first leg of a two-year tour, where the exhibits will be transferred to other exhibitions within Chinese cities.
