Melita Voinovich, Director of the World Health Organization office in Russia, stressed that vaccination is the only way to protect against mutations of the Corona virus.
And the Russia Today website quoted Voinovich as saying that “the increase in the vaccination rate will lead to a decrease in the number of patients in hospitals and people in intensive care units.”
According to Voinovich, "The Delta strain of the virus has almost replaced Alpha in terms of distribution, while experts continue to monitor the situation with the possible spread of the Lambda strain."
It is noteworthy that the lambda strain of the Corona virus was discovered in Peru in 2020 and during the last month of this year the World Health Organization reported its spread in more than 30 countries, especially in the Americas.
