After lagging behind China throughout most of the Olympics in Tokyo, the United States made a comeback in the last 24 hours of the Games and climbed to the top.
this is the third consecutive Olympics where the US delegation winning medals table altogether and 18th (out of 29 Olympic Games). China took the lead in 2008 with 48 golds and 100 total, compared to 36 American gold medals and 112 total.
Israel completing Olympic dream, thread the 37th place thanks to its two gold medals and a total of four. together with Ireland and Uzbekistan, which have two gold medals and two bronze.
