Around 570 election workers will be on duty in the upcoming federal election in the Würmtal.

Only Krailling does not have all the helpers together yet.

Nevertheless, all town halls are happy to receive applications.

Würmtal

- Around 120 election workers in Krailling, 140 in Neuried, 110 in Graefelfing and around 200 election workers in Planegg will be on duty in the upcoming federal election. Only the Krailling community has not yet filled all the “positions”: “We have a lot of experienced workers in our pool, but they are gradually breaking away. Finding new people is not that easy, ”says Rathaus managing director Franz Wolfrum - probably also because in the end you have to take almost a day of your time. The town hall is therefore always happy to receive applications. However, Krailling pays the lowest compensation of all municipalities with 40 euros plus food. “Before the last local election, we decided on this in the local council and an increase for the local election to 60 euros. But that only applied to the local elections and was difficult to get through even then ",says Wolfrum. The managing director would also like to pay more in the other elections such as the federal election and suspects that the amount could be a reason why the community is having difficulty finding helpers. The town hall is initially planning all community employees and councilors - “but not everyone always wants to,” says Wolfrum. Non-Kraillingers are also welcome.

Lists of helpers filled since spring

The municipality of Neuried has had its helper lists full since spring.

“It is noticeable that a relatively large number of young people are there.

To claim that this is due to the vaccination prioritization that has taken place would be a malicious assumption.

I tend to believe that young people are relatively interested in politics.

Even after the vaccinations, nobody jumped off, ”says spokeswoman Inke Franzen.

There are also slightly more women than men in Neuried election workers.

The municipality pays 50 euros in compensation plus food.

In order to be an electoral worker, one should be eligible to vote, as everywhere, but also be a newbie if possible.

Applications for the pool, in which, as in all town halls, all “volunteers” are stored, are welcome.

Take a look behind the scenes

Planegg also already has all the election workers together. “There are of course a lot of regulars, but also some new ones. The motivation for many is to be part of such an exciting day ”and to take a look behind the scenes, says town hall spokeswoman Kiki Xander. The community pays 80 euros in compensation plus food. The appropriate training before each election is also open to experienced workers and makes perfect sense for them too. The fact that, with 200, there are far more electoral workers in the community than 110 in Graefelfing, is due to the fact that Planegg, with nine ballot boxes and 13 postal voting districts, has more districts than the ten in Graefelfing and employs eight people per polling station, Graefelfing only six per ballot box and five per postal voting station. "The more helpers there are, the faster they will of course be finished",says the responsible employee Marion Wedershofen.

In Graefelfing, as in the other municipalities, many town hall employees help with the elections.

“A large part is covered by our employees.

Otherwise there are some new election workers, but above all many experienced ones, ”says Sandra Zwillich, the responsible employee.

Depending on the position, the community pays between 80 and 100 euros plus food and thus the highest rate of all Würmtal communities.

Due to the exceptional Corona situation, which has not yet ended, there will be a special hygiene concept in the federal election, as in all municipalities.

The number of postal voting districts was reduced from the usual 15 to ten due to the corona.
