With the installation of

800 security cameras

within the groups of the seven communal lines, the Municipality of Almirante Brown advances in compliance with the regulations established by the Government of the Province of Buenos Aires, which

requires that all public transport units are monitored 24 hours

a day through cameras.

Almost two months ago, on June 8, the

resolution 35/2021 of the Buenos Aires Transport Secretariat

was published in the Official Gazette

,

which establishes the measure and sets a period of 180 days from that date to begin to comply with it.

The norm provides that in these six months the companies,

at least, must present a security camera installation plan

"in all the automotive units that are already incorporated into the mobile fleet of regular line passenger public transport services, at run in one year. "

Meanwhile, the units that already have security camera equipment must be approved according to the procedure approved by the Provincial Directorate of Transportation in due course.

The administration of Almirante Brown, now, becomes one of the first to begin to specify the installation of cameras.

The Municipality confirmed that progress is being made “with the installation of 800 monitoring cameras

in the 218 units of the seven

local bus

lines

, with the aim of strengthening the prevention and safety of the thousands of residents who use public transport in daily ”.

As they specified, in total there

are four

security

devices per vehicle

: three inside and one in front.

And that the cameras that monitor in real time all the units of the lines that begin and end their journey in the Commune: 501, 505, 506, 510, 514, 515 and 521.

Three cameras point to the interior of the vehicle and one to the outside.

Drivers activate monitoring.

"This system allows us to monitor the groups from our Municipal Operations Center (COM), 24 hours a day, 365 days a year," said Mayor Mariano Cascallares.

This monitoring system

is directly connected to the Burzaco COM

, which is activated when the driver presses an anti-panic button in the event of any emergency that may arise within the group.

From the Secretary of Prevention and Citizen Security of Almirante Brown, its owner Paula Eichel specified that "once the alert is sent, the COM automatically observes what is happening inside the unit."

In this way, he added, a response is quickly provided by giving intervention to the personnel in charge of each area, according to the type of emergency, be it Police, Fire, Civil Defense or 107AB.

In addition, thanks to a geolocation system, the COM monitors the location in real time of these 218 units, "thus strengthening the prevention of passengers and also of the workers of the different bus lines," they reported.

Finally, from the municipal government they remarked that this security system allows the Commune to contribute to improving the safety of the thousands and thousands of passengers who use the services of the different transport lines in the Commune on a monthly basis.

By GPS, at the Burzaco COM they also control where the buses go.

Of the seven bus lines that circulate within the limits of Almirante Brown, 541 is the one with the largest number of cars (about 60);

Enter 505, 506 and 521 add up to 55;

Line 515 has 24 units, Line 510 has 9 and 501, 50 cars.

This monitoring technology in the buses is added to the 764 video surveillance cameras located on the road that the Municipality of Almirante Brown placed with the aim of continuing to strengthen crime prevention in all neighborhoods.

Of this total, 564 are strategically installed on public roads, which are fixed, "dome" type, with a 360-degree range, and LPR for the detection of vehicles in the main accesses to the district, while the 200 remaining are placed in the new community alarms.
