Russia considers appeal to CAS: "Linoy Ashram's scandal requires clarification"
Winds are still raging following the "judging scandal" in the final: the Russians have filed another appeal to the World Olympic Committee and been rejected, but are considering their steps "if not for Dina Abrina's justice, then for the sake of cleaning the industry in the future".
And there’s also a new proposition: robots instead of judges

Russia is refusing to relax from the so-called "judging scandal" that brought the gold medal in the multi-event competition in artistic gymnastics to Linoy Ashram, at the expense of Dina Avrina.
The Bulgarian team's gold win at the expense of the Russians in the team competition this morning (Sunday) added fuel to the fire, bringing the issue of refereeing in the industry dominated for years by Russia, to the top of the agenda at sports sites.
The Sports Express reported tonight that the Russian Gymnastics Association has appealed to the International Olympic Committee for the Ashram Gold Medal and asked to pass it to Dina Avrina, who finished with the silver medal by a margin of 0.150 points.
The appeal was dismissed outright and the International Olympic Committee's laconic reply stated that "any question concerning the judging of the competition should be directed to the person who drafted the rules. There is no reason to think that the judges' conduct was flawed."

According to Sports Express, the Russians are currently considering an application to the CAS (Sports Arbitration Tribunal), the highest court authorized to hear such cases.
The purpose of the appeal, if any, is not to deny the Ashram gold medal - which is not within the jurisdiction of the tribunal - but to examine the conduct of the judges in depth and punish them if necessary.
"The scandal that gave Linoy Ashram the gold medal requires an in-depth investigation. If not for the justice of Dina Avrina, then for the cleaning of the industry from such scandals in the future," Sport Express noted.
Legendary Russian gymnast Svetlana Korkina, who admitted she was in "total shock from the judges' deliberate bias," even suggested that from now on human judges would be replaced by robots programmed to give the most accurate scores according to performance and difficulty level.
"It's time to take action. Maybe we should start using robots that do not skew the results and do not let their heart's desire hurt big athletes like the Abrina sisters," she said.
"I think everyone will come out wide from such a scenario. There will be no judge who will have to deal with the criticism and consequences of his decisions. It's time to think seriously about robots, that's the only way to prevent such injustice in the future."
