District - The new district office building should be ready for occupancy in December 2025.

Planner Jessica Lauterbach from the district administration named this date at the most recent meeting of the district council.

She and department head Maria Rode presented the concept and the spatial plan (we reported) as well as the updated schedule to the district councilors.

According to this, the decision on the listing should be made in September or October of this year. The former agricultural school and the former agricultural office must be vacated by the end of 2022. The replacement building is being built in their place. The first preparatory measures on the site will start as early as June 2022. Construction phase 1 will then start in January 2023 with the demolition of the two buildings. Construction phase 2 will begin in June 2024. It includes the construction of apartments and an underground car park north of Riezlerstrasse. In December 2025, both construction phases should then be finished at the same time.

During the meeting, the flat roof issue briefly flared up again. It is to be built on the rear building and was initially rejected by the Miesbach city council. In a further meeting, however, the committee was convinced of the advantages by the representatives of the district administration. District Administrator Olaf von Löwis (CSU) praised the change of opinion as “remarkable”. Irschenberg's mayor Klaus Meixner (CSU) did not want to see any advantages, even if the roof - as Astrid Güldner (Greens) had previously noted - was of ecological benefit. "If we want to do a lot of work, we build a flat roof," said the master carpenter, referring to the drainage. Martin Beilhack (BP) agreed with him: "A flat roof has never been cut on a public building."

Christine Negele was already thinking about the time after the building was completed.

The SPD parliamentary group spokeswoman suggested operating the cafeteria as an inclusive restaurant, i.e. employing people with disabilities there.

Lauterbach promised to take the suggestion with him.

"So far," she said, "but we are not yet."
