"Linoy Ashram's Gold - Political Revenge on Vladimir Putin's Lover"
One of Russia's political commentators claims that the gold medal was awarded to an Israeli woman in an attempt to harm the president "due to his weakness for artistic gymnastics", and against the background of his relationship with Olympic medalist Alina Kabayeva.
Dina Avrina did not recover: "If there was an audience in the stands, the judges would not dare"

Russia is still struggling to digest the loss of gold medals in the individual and team multi-event competitions at the Tokyo Olympics, and is already raising conspiracy theories. According to political commentator Stanislav Blakowski, awarding the gold to Linoy Ashram is nothing less than a political plot aimed at harming Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"This is an international scandal, and it will have geopolitical and military consequences," Blakowski said in an interview with a Moscow radio station. "The truth must be told - Linoy Ashram's gold is an attempt to directly and personally harm Putin. The fact that this scandal actually happened in artistic gymnastics is far from accidental."
Putin is known for his fondness for artistic gymnastics, and over the years he has reportedly had an ongoing secret affair with former Olympic medalist Alina Kabayeva, from whom he is rumored to have twins.
Kabayeva, "Putin's secret woman," is at the forefront of Russia's artistic gymnastics team and is heavily involved in it to this day.
"They tried to take revenge on her, and take revenge on him," Blakowski claims.
"Is anyone surprised that an Israeli woman won gold? This is a political persecution, and all because of Putin's support for Syria."

Dina Avrina, the gymnast who is at the center of the storm after settling for the silver medal, repeated this morning the claims that it was determined in advance that she would not win gold.
"A lot of people supported me, and said my story is reminiscent of what happened to Alexei Nemov in 2004."
Nemov, the legendary Russian gymnast, received a relatively low score in Athens in 2004 for his performance in the beam exercise, and his score was only improved after a high level of appeal and contempt from the crowd.
"That's exactly what happened to me. If there was an audience in the stands in Tokyo, it probably would have ended differently. The judges did not have the courage to make the decision they made in front of an audience," said Avrina, who enjoys great support in Russia.
"My sister and I read all the messages and all the comments, a lot of people write to us, and we try to answer everyone," she said.
