The elements of the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus countryside seized a workshop for the manufacture of pickles in the Sabinah area, containing 80 barrels containing rotten pickles.
The director of the directorate, Imran Salakho, indicated that each barrel contained 150 kilograms of rotten cucumber pickles with an unpleasant odor, insects and worms, indicating that the necessary control was duly organized and legal measures were taken in accordance with Legislative Decree No. 8 of 2021.
The directorate’s elements, while performing their duties in the markets, also organized 35 supply controls, according to Salakho, which included a bakery in Al-Nabek with a violation of weight loss and a broiler shop in the Daraya area with 25 kg of raw broiler soaked in water and 23 kg of spoiled broiler meat unfit for human consumption, as it was immediately destroyed in the presence of its holder.
The seizure also affected shops that committed violations of not possessing a purchase invoice for mineral water, not announcing prices, and selling car parts of unknown origin in one of the shops.
