A new point of contact in the nightlife: Florian Lingner wants to open an Irish pub in a Geretsried cult bar.

The PapperlaPub is getting a new face - and everyone can have a say.

Geretsried - A new meeting point for night owls is emerging in Geretsried: Florian Lingner is expected to open the Irish pub "Dubliner", named after the Irish capital, in the former PapperlaPub on Hirschenweg this week.

With moss green walls and dark brown wood, the pub should exude an informal and cozy atmosphere.

In addition to German beers, the drinks menu also includes popular varieties such as Kilkenny and Guiness, lesser-known beer specialties, as well as cider variations and, of course, whiskeys.

Sports fans should look forward to the three televisions in the guest room and in the winter garden, on which football, Formula 1 or football are broadcast.

The Instagram community has a say in the design of the restaurant

"I put a lot of passion into it - I hope that the customers notice that," says the managing director.

He has been renovating the pub for weeks, the painting work is still going on.

The opening date is the coming Wednesday, August 11th.

Until then, the 29-year-old graphic designer wants to bring even more flair to the traditional pub.

“It's not just supposed to be called an Irish pub, it should look and feel like it,” he says.

Lingner himself had a few requests for this - five individual brass taps instead of a central dispensing system, for example.

Irish Pub is supposed to fill a gap - and get the nightlife going

Even before the opening, future guests can have a say in how the pub should look.

For example, followers can vote on the stone elements on the walls on the restaurant's Instagram page.

The Wolfratshauser has also added a few varieties to the whiskey menu because the Instagram community wanted a few more special drinks.

The 29-year-old is not surprised by the lively interest in the online surveys: “There is not a single Irish pub within a 40 or 50 kilometer radius.” In general, the number of night restaurants in the region is manageable.

In the lockdown, the previous operator of the PapperlaPub had thrown in the towel.

Lingner: “The more offers there are, the better.

I hope that the nightlife will pick up again. ”Wolfratshauser himself would like to make a contribution to this.

Of course, when the mood is good, we leave it open longer.

The pub is closed on Mondays.

Open during the week and on Sundays from 5 p.m. to midnight and on Fridays until 3 a.m.

On Saturday the restaurant is open from 2 p.m. to 3 a.m.
