The Spanish Rafael Nadal was left out of the top 3 of the ATP ranking for the first time since May 2017. This is the heaviest news delivered by the list published this Monday that also shows the return of Italian Jannik Sinner to the top 20 thanks to his victory in the ATP 500 in Washington and the pronounced fall of Argentine Guido Pella, who is no longer among the top 100 on the circuit.

Surprisingly eliminated in the round of 16 in the US capital, Nadal fell to 4th place in the standings after being overtaken by Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas.

The Serbian Novak Djokovic remains the unalterable leader with 12,113 points and a lot of advantage over the second, the Russian Daniil Medvedev.

Sinner's triumph in the tournament in the US capital, which is part of the tour leading to the US Open, allowed him to move up 9 places to 15th, his best position in the world rankings.

Sinner celebrated in Washington and made history.

At almost 20 years old - he will meet them on August 16 - the Italian is the youngest tennis player to win an ATP 500 tournament since the category was created in 2009.

Finalist in Washington, the American Mackenzie McDonald starred in a spectacular rise, going from 107th place to 64th.

The negative note was put by the Argentine Guido Pella, who dropped 17 positions and left the top hundred by now occupying the 102nd position in the ranking.
