British media quoted government sources on August 8 as saying that Chinese agents disguised as asylum seekers and applied for the BNO visa (BNO visa) provided by the British government to Hong Kong people.
"The Times" quoted several government sources on the 8th as saying that they noticed that there were "undercover agents" applying for BNO visas.
The source said: "There is a reason to conduct strict background checks for visa applications in a timely manner. The BNO visa program's review process is more thorough than any other (plan)."

Former Hong Kong Governor Patten Barnes told The Times: "We are dealing with a totalitarian state that will use whistleblowers. If anyone is worried that the Chinese Communist Party will seek to insert whistleblowers and those who steal security secrets. Open society (country), then they make perfect sense, and we should take this seriously.”
He added that he believes that the BNO visa program is the correct response to China's implementation of the "Hong Kong National Security Law."
