The Directorate of Agriculture in As-Suwayda has finished distributing the grant of the national project for family farming for home gardens for the current year within 19 villages.
The head of the Rural Women's Development Department in the Directorate of Agriculture in Sweida, engineer Mohsna Abu Samra, explained in a statement to SANA reporter today that the distributed seeds included 6 types of vegetables and irrigation networks covering an area of 500 meters within one garden, indicating that the 1,000 beneficiaries were chosen as breadwinners for their families, the needy and those who have them. Gardens adjacent to homes and those wishing to work.
She pointed out the importance of this project to help families achieve self-sufficiency in vegetables and supplies, and sell surplus production to secure an additional source of income.
About 2,500 beneficiaries were included in the National Family Farming Project for home gardens in a number of As-Suwayda villages during the past years.
