Questions about Covid-19 Vaccine Mix and Booster Doses

@drhuerta doctor is being heard a lot in networks, which is recommended to people who were vaccinated with it.

Jonson & jonson vaccine put a dose of pfizer to reinforce against the delta variant, the.

Jonson's vaccine does not protect me, and what do you recommend by the FDA, have you already ruled?

- ivan soto (@ sotoivanm7) August 5, 2021

Hello Ivan.

As of this writing, there is as yet no FDA directive for a booster dose to be used, nor for vaccines that require two doses - such as Pfizer and Moderna - or a single dose, such as Johnson & # 39; s. Johnson.

Although the FDA is reported to be planning a third dose strategy for September, we must wait.

@drhuerta in March I was vaccinated with Cansino, Ultimamndte there are publications that question its effectiveness, I have the opportunity to get vaccinated with pfIzer, can I do it without affecting my health?

- VDelfin (@VeroDelfinR) August 5, 2021

Hello Vero.

So far, the vaccine combinations that have been scientifically studied are AstraZeneca with Pfizer, AstraZeneca with Moderna, Pfizer with Moderna, and Sputnik V with Moderna or AstraZeneca.

Sorry I can't help.

@drhuerta if a person received the second dose of Pfizer on June 19, 2021, can they receive a third booster dose in the United States on September 2?

- Victor Paredes (@pw_twi) August 8, 2021

Hello Victor.

As of this writing, there is as yet no FDA directive for a booster dose to be used, nor for vaccines that require two doses - such as Pfizer and Moderna - or a single dose, such as Johnson & # 39; s. Johnson.

@drhuerta my family and I were vaccinated in the month of May and we got the Jhonson & Jhonson vaccine, my question is can we get another vaccine from another laboratory and how long?

Or we hope to wear the same in December

- Carlota (@ csh2408) August 4, 2021

Questions about getting COVID-19 after receiving a dose of the vaccine

Kenike asks:

If I developed covid after the first dose of vaccine, how long should I wait for the second dose?

What is advised, Kenike, is that you wait three months or 90 days.

This, because the immunity obtained by the natural disease can last a minimum of that time.

@drhuerta Good afternoon Dr. I hope I can resolve a question I have and he won't let me get vaccinated on 06/26 with Sputnik V on the 28th I present symptoms of cough and back pain, I take the test on day 2 / 08 and I test positive for covid.

Could I have gotten it from the vaccine?

- Juan Luis Ortega Montiel (@ JuanLui1101) August 8, 2021

Hello John.

That is not possible.

Remember that none of the vaccines in use contain active viruses, so no vaccine causes COVID-19.

Most likely, you were vaccinated while already infected, in the asymptomatic stage.

Hello Dr. Huerta, I am from Argentina and I received the first dose of Sputnik V on May 13, on July 13 with symptoms and positive swab of covid high epidemiological on 24/7 How long should I wait to receive the second dose, surely due to lack will it be another vaccine?

- Fernandez (@ GracielaDragon2) August 7, 2021

Hi, Fernandez.

The government of the City of Buenos Aires has just announced that it is possible to replace the second dose of Sputnik V with a dose of Moderna or AstraZeneca vaccines.

Please contact your city health authority to complete your second dose.

Covid-19 vaccine: could it cause a disease?

5:39

Myth: the vaccine does not alter DNA

Dr. Is it true that what the vaccine does is modify our DNA to fight the virus?

If so, what are the short-term or long-term adverse effects?

In the future I want to be a mother: Is it true that it could have consequences for my baby by having my DNA modified? @Drhuerta

- Cefeida Naeba (@CefeidaNaeba) August 2, 2021

That is a very common belief, and it is a favorite of the anti-vaccine groups, Cepheid, but it is not true.

Messenger RNA vaccines do not act in the nucleus of cells, where the human genome or DNA is found, but in the cytoplasm, outside the nucleus.

Making a comparison, let us remember that the human cell is like a chicken egg, because in addition to having a shell or membrane, it has a nucleus or yolk and a cytoplasm or white.

Messenger RNA vaccines act in the clear or cytoplasm, not in the nucleus or yolk, so it is impossible for them to affect the genome of the person.

My husband says that the vaccine would alter my DNA and I would get sick from something more serious and that this vaccine is NOT actually a vaccine .. that it is something experimental.

- Curiosa (@ Curiosa65811587) August 7, 2021

Hello, Curiosa.

We just explained that messenger RNA vaccines do not have the ability to alter the human genome.

On the other hand, although it is true that in the beginning, to prove that they were effective, the vaccines were experimental drugs that were tested in phase 1, 2 and 3 studies, today billions of doses have already been applied, and its effectiveness in preventing serious illness and death has been widely proven.

Questions about vaccinating infants, children, and adolescents

@drhuerta a minor (16 years almost 17) can be vaccinated with Astra Zeneca?

Regardless of the country's vaccination restrictions

- Javier (@ Javier18950440) August 5, 2021

Hi Javier.

Good question.

In the United States, the only vaccine approved for use in adolescents 12 years of age and older is Pfizer's.

While Moderna has also completed a clinical study in adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17, it does not yet have permission from the FDA.

All other vaccines - including AstraZeneca's - are not licensed for use in adolescents.

@drhuerta Dr. In the case of nursing mothers, does any vaccine give the same effect and transmit immunity to the baby?

I await your response to make a decision.

Thanks

- irina valeria (@valeitta) August 5, 2021

Excellent question, Irina.

There are several types of antibodies produced in response to vaccines, including immunoglobulins A, G, and M.

Immunoglobulins A are able to pass from the mother's blood into milk, so it is possible that the IgA antibodies produced by any vaccine can reach breast milk.

@drhuerta, what about vaccines for children from 3 years old?

- KAREN (@karen_tocain) August 3, 2021

Hello Karen.

So far, the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are the only vaccines that have completed phase 3 studies in adolescents older than 12 years.

Both these and other laboratories are actively working to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of vaccines in children under 12 years of age, with results expected by the end of this year.

Doubts about the vaccine and pre-existing conditions

Dr. Huerta I have henoch schonlein purple, I have reacted with food, dye medications and I have had difficulties with my heart.

Could I get the Sinopharm vaccine?

I am 35 years old and it will be my turn soon.

Thanks.

- Pierina Caricchio (@PierinaCaricchi) August 3, 2021

Hello, Pierina.

Due to the medical history you have, you are a person at risk to complicate yourself if you become infected with the new coronavirus, for which you must be vaccinated.

Obviously, only your doctor can give you the appropriate permission.

@drhuerta good night.

I have a query: I suffer from marfan syndrome and, due to a history of some vaccines for covid of generating blood clots, I prevent myself from being vaccinated.

My question is if there is any vaccine that I can use without the fear of having any side effects

- Alejandro Cortes (@el_muisca) August 3, 2021

Hello Alejandro.

People with Marfan syndrome are more likely to get complicated if they become infected with the new coronavirus.

In that sense, for you, the benefit of any vaccine is greater than the small risk of side effects of any of them.

Please speak to your doctor.

Doctor good morning, I have a cousin with problems of the urinary system and prostate, can he be vaccinated with Sinopharm?

Thanks a lot

- Aracelli Jimenez (@ AraSofia6) August 5, 2021

Hello, Aracelli.

Those conditions are not a contraindication to getting vaccinated.

Obviously, you must be free of symptoms, so that - in case the vaccine causes symptoms - they do not add to those of your urinary or prostate problem and you feel bad.

How to mitigate the side effects of vaccines?

5:38

Questions about side effects

@drhuerta Question- today I vaccinated and it was with a dose of the Moderna vaccine, but I did not feel anything at the time of application, the error I had was not to see the syringe to see if I had the dose, how can I say that they applied me the vaccine ?

I'm waiting for your answer please.

- Angel Rodrigo.

(@ AngelAuthentic1) August 3, 2021

Hello Angel.

There is no relationship between the intensity of the side effects and the action of the vaccine.

I tell you that I did not feel anything when I received my first dose of Moderna.

@drhuerta can I have the same side effects with the application of the second dose of sputnikV?

- Daniel Alonso (@ImDastan) August 6, 2021

Hello Daniel.

Your question is very interesting.

Symptoms caused by vaccine side effects are highly variable.

Some people have symptoms in the first, but not in the second, others - most of them - have more symptoms with the second dose than with the first, others are similar in the first and second, and a few have no symptoms at all. the first or the second dose.

The important thing is to understand that there is no relationship between the intensity of the symptoms of side effects and the effectiveness of the vaccine.

Other questions about covid-19, vaccines or virus variants

@drhuerta good morning Doctor, wishing you are very well, a question the virus can enter the body through the ears, I ask it because of what your colleague Dr. Juan Rivera said.

Thanks

- Adriana Murcia (@ Adriana66635246) August 5, 2021

Hello Adriana.

Because the virus cannot be spread through dry skin, it cannot be spread through the external ear canal, which is lined with skin, not through a moist mucosa such as the nose or throat.

What has been shown is that the virus can infect the middle ear or eardrum, an important knowledge for surgeons who operate in that area.

Dr. Huerta, I have a trip to Los Angeles on August 12, but I only have a dose of Moderna.

How should I take care of myself.

The second dose on August 28 here in Colombia.

- PILAR SARMIENTO (@ mapi1289) August 5, 2021

Hello Pilar.

Excellent question.

With a single dose of Moderna you are partially protected, so until you return to Colombia, you should use a double mask, avoid crowded places, especially in closed spaces, and wash your hands frequently.

@drhuerta good evening Dr., if you were vaccinated with Sinopharm in Wuhan, why are you worried about the Delta variant? Is your vaccine against this variant not effective as Oxford and Sri Lanka scientists point out?

- Eli Quispe (@ gotadelluvia1) August 3, 2021

Excellent question, Eli.

Research shows that all vaccines in use are less effective in preventing delta variant infection.

In such a way that it is possible that a person vaccinated with Sinopharm or another could become infected and spread the disease.

That is why the Chinese authorities have established the corresponding epidemiological fences to isolate people.
