The latest report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change shows terrifying results.
Now he is calling on humanity to rethink radically.
Geneva - Mankind has to rethink, says the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.
The latest report shows: droughts, heavy rain and heat waves will come more and more frequently.
And the report underlines that climate change is man-made.
Never before has the impact of rising greenhouse gas emissions been such a great threat to the planet.
The consequences also include a rapidly rising sea level.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change is now calling for a radical rethink.

The often advertised 1.5 degree target is already obsolete.
Because even in 20 years, this value can no longer be prevented, even under the most stringent climate measures.
More than 230 scientists have evaluated around 14,000 climate studies for the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) that have appeared since the last report of this type in 2013.
Climate council: Sea at the end of the century 62 centimeters higher
However, there is still a way to prevent the worst-case scenario and turn things around.
"If we reduce emissions quickly, we have a good chance of meeting the 2-degree target," said one of the authors, Jochem Marotzke from the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology.
The entire world would have to be climate neutral by 2070.
By the end of the century, regardless of the climate protection measures, the sea will be at least 62 centimeters higher than in the period from 1995 to 2014.

Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg called for bold political decisions in response to the report.
The worst consequences of climate change could still be prevented.
“But not if we carry on like today, and not without treating the crisis like a crisis,” she wrote on Twitter and Instagram. * Kreiszeitung.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
