Long tail shark stranded on Lamma Island beach carcass moderately decayed, second shark stranded this year

The Ocean Park Conservation Fund of Hong Kong received a report last Saturday (7th) to follow up on a shark stranded case. A 29 cm long tail shark was found on the beach of Tai Wan To. The carcass was moderately decomposed, the second of the year.

The Conservation Fund took the sharks back to the Ocean Park this (9th) afternoon for detailed anatomy and laboratory tests.

The Hong Kong Ocean Park Conservation Fund urges the public to call the 1823 hotline if suspected cases of stranding of whales, dolphins, sharks, and finfish are found, and provide the time, place, and photos of the stranding, so that the action team can arrive at the scene as soon as possible to follow up.
