Here, in a few figures, the expansion project of Barcelona El Prat airport, announced last week by the Spanish government with the agreement of the Catalan regional government.
Enough to move the infrastructure from the category of major Spanish airport to that of a major international hub.

The expansion has been a long-standing demand of the Catalan business community.
"All the sectors were united behind this request, because a large international airport allows the city to be repositioned,"
underlines Jordi Alberich, vice-president of the Institute of Estudis Estratègics, the think-tank of Foment del Treball, the main organization Catalan employer.
