Nine people died as a result of malfunctioning oxygen systems in a hospital in the city of Vladikavkaz in the Republic of North Ossetia in the Russian North Caucasus.
The Russia Today website quoted the Republic’s Ministry of Health as saying in a statement that the cause of the death of the nine people was the lack of oxygen caused by the failure of medical equipment in the hospital, noting that the people were in the intensive care department and were infected with the Corona virus.
The ministry added that there were 71 people in the intensive care unit during the accident.
In turn, the Acting President of the Republic, Sergei Minyalo, said that he had received a report stating that a hole had appeared in the tube that was supplying the hospital's oxygen station, which resulted in a lack of oxygen to the intensive care unit.
And health authorities in Russia recorded 22,160 cases of the Corona epidemic during the last 24 hours, including 2,150 injuries in the capital, Moscow.
